She made her national gymnastics debut at the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships, finishing first on floor exercise, second on uneven bars, fourth in the all-around, and seventh on vault.
Ohashi competed in her first elite meet at the U.S. Classic in Des Moines, Iowa, where she finished fourth in the junior division on the floor, tied for fifth on the balance beam, and finished ninth overall.
Ohashi competed in the National Championships in Dallas, where she won silver on floor exercise, sixth on beam, and tenth in all-around, and was named to the junior national team.
